Monday

Piper and I went on a little drive today with our friends to look a house for sale she was maybe interested in. It ended up being right where we are building so we took a little detour going home to see how things were going.

Yup! That SOLD sign is for us! That's our lot! The got everything ready (footings - I guess) and are supposed to poor concrete tomorrow but it just POURED rain!!!!!!!! So who knows when they'll pour. I'm SOOOO excited for it to just get going! AND to finally move out of this dumb apt! The neighbors up stairs sound like animals walking around. We just don't get how you can walk THAT loud?!?!?! So it will be so nice to have our own home with no one upstairs making a bunch of ruckas.
After our little outing we stopped at Sonic for yummy treats since it's sooooo HOT! Here's Piper with her very first strawberry slushy and it's all for her! Can you tell she's excited
Here's her friend Emily with her yummy shake.
Over all, we had a fun Monday!

The Good Life

So we've just had a chillin' week and have had such an awesome time! Here is Piper lounging on her chair that grandmommy and granddaddy got her. She's trying to open the wallet they sent her. Those zippers can be kindda tricky!

Saturday was our stake Pioneer celebration! They had it up at some farm north of us. Here Dad and Piper are ready to get going! Piper's excited to show off her dress that her friend gave here and see all the fun games they've got going on.

They had little carts for the dad's to wheel around. Piper just needs a whip!
After the games (which I have to admit we were very late and missed out on most of the games but they had horse shoes, three legged races, etc.) we all had a cook out with hotdogs and hamburgers and delicious watermelon and Yes brownies! Not to sure why the frown - I think she is warning everyone NOT to take her brownie away from her!
Here we are on a Hay ride. When we got to the farm we mingled and then lunch was ready and they stopped the hay rides. I was worried we'd missed out and poor little Piper wouldn't get to experience this wonderful funness so I asked curtis if he new how to drive a tractor so we could just take it on a spin ourselves. I got the most dumbfounded look like 'do you know who you're married to????' Ok so yeah that was a dumb question!

I think we wore her out!Tuesday my friend and I took the girls to the water park by our place - IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want to leave!!!!!!! NO JOKE! This was Piper's favorite place at first. She wasn't really interested in venturing out. She just loved to wade in the water and try to grab the water.I finally got her out the the bigger kiddy pool and she loved it. There was water spraying everywhere and kids laughing all around us. She thought it was pretty awesome. There were kiddy slides with water so we asked the life guard people if we could go down with them- they said YES! We had a BLAST! I wish there was someone to take out picture because Piper was just laughing the whole time. She would have done that the rest of the day if she could. But I finally dragged her away from the and we tried the wave pool - not too much interest there. Besides we can do that at the ocean. So THEN we did the Lazy River. They wouldn't let us use our baby tubes by themselves but said we could put them inside one of the park's tubes. So, I got a double tube and put piper in one side and me on the other. She wasn't too into that because she couldn't see out so I took her out and lounged across the whole thing and sat her on the big tube. She LOVE that! She would just splash her feet, play with my hair and check out what else was going on. We really did have so much fun!

I love my beautiful Piper!

I just saw Cynthia's post about the AMAZING family in Vegas and their tragic story. I'm not a cryer but I balled. I didn't even know the whole story yet but when I saw the picture of their beautiful baby, the tears just rolled in. I am so grateful to this mother for helping me and others view their child/children in a different light. For helping us remember to cherish our little ones and for helping us to recognize that even the difficult times of parenting should be cherished. I think I have always cherished every moment I have with Piper but this blog is a great reminder and has made me realize how delicate life is. I love my beautiful baby. She has the most beautiful smile. Her giggle is beautiful music and her babbles are precious. I love how she TRIES to walk really fast when we say "I'm gonna get you" and how when you offer her treats the takes as much as will fit in her tiny fist and shove it all in her mouth and then push on her mouth to make sure nothing falls out. I love her mischivious smile. I love how she puts her hand out and says "huh" when she needs help going up or down stairs or curbs. I love how she gets really excited about folding her arms when we pray and how sometimes she just smiles at us and lets us fold our arms while she watches and then nods her head when we say "amen". She has a sweet, calm, always happy disposition (she must have gotten from her dad - heaven knows I'm not the calm one). She is beautiful!

A House Story

Ok, so we are buying/building a house! How fun is that!?!? This is our lot - officially. There's a story behing this. We originally signed on the wrong lot!!!! And found out on Sunday when we went for a little drive through our to be new subdivision. Anyway, everything was all set to start this week (the permit was in) and then we realized that we had the wrong lot. SO we had to redo the paper work (well we didn't but some REALLY nice people at Brentwood did). I thought it would take at least another week to get a new permit but Curtis called me today and said it was all in and they started TODAY! HOORAY!!! I guess they put some peg things out and tomorrow they will test the soil and then we're off. I'm so excited. It will be SOOOOOO great to get out of an apt. So here it is in all of its glory - our new (right) lot! And here's our fountain view.
Hope the alligators don't get us!
